2007 Jacob's Run For a Reason

Please join us for the 2nd Annual Jacob’s Run For a Reason on Sunday, October 21st, 2007 at Mt. Trashmore Park in Virginia Beach, VA. The whole family will enjoy a 5K Run or 1 Mile Family Fun Walk, a silent auction, children's activities, and a buffet provided by Beach Bully BBQ! Events and registration begin at 8:30am.
1st Annual Jacob's Run For a Reason a Huge Success
Virginia's 1st Annual Jacob's Run For a Reason was held on October 22, 2006 at Mount Trashmore Park in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The event was a huge success with close to 700 participants and money raised exceeding $35,000!
The majority of funds raised went to support the SUDC Research Project headed by world-renowned researcher, Dr. Henry Krous.

Michelle and Ben Baker, along with family and friends, are hosting the event in honor of their son Jacob. Jacob will always be remembered as an incredible little boy. For the much too short time he was here with us, Jacob was curious, intelligent, intuitive, full of life, heart warming, delightful, compassionate and pure joy. Jacob was a mesmerizing twelve month old who touched the hearts and changed the lives of all who came in contact with him. He was truly amazing. On the morning of October 30, 2005, at 1 year and 11 days of age, Jacob died in his sleep. The cause of his tragic death was listed as Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).

Money raised for the event will fund SUDC research, create awareness and help in providing SUDC support services to bereaved families. The SUDC Program is part of the CJ Foundation for SIDS-a national health organization leading the fight against SIDS and SUDC.
